Competition Details

JUMP FEST EVENT RULES:

Competition Rules:

There will be 3 categories of events which include: Freestyle Performance, Speed, and Longevity/Endurance. Each team must be ready and prepared to perform at their designated start time. Failure to comply will result in point deduction or disqualification of event round.


Round 1: Freestyle Performance

This will be each team’s opening act for the JUMP Fest Competition. Each team will have up to 7 minutes for their performance with a minimum of 3 minutes required. Teams will be judged on creativity, team coordination, freestyle moves, and overall theme of performance. All music for performance must be clean and free of explicit lyrics. We ask that all dance moves, if any, be family friendly as well.

Round 2: Speed Round

2 athletes from each team will compete in the speed round for 60 seconds each. Both athlete’s total jumps will be combined for total team score for speed round. The team with the most jumps will win the speed round.

Round 3: Longevity/Endurance Round

Each team will select 1 athlete to compete in the longevity round. There will be a count down, each jumper must be in the rope within 1 second of countdown start time. If jumper fails to get in the rope timely, team will be disqualified from longevity round. If multiple heats are needed due to the number of teams, the winners of the separate heats will compete in a final jump off round to determine winner of longevity round. Alternate athletes can be used in the event a jump off round is needed.

Age Ranges

There will be two sets of age ranges. Each age range will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winning team. One age range will be ages 13 and under, the other age range will be ages 14 and up.

Overall Winner Determination for Grand Prizes

Each team will receive a ranking per category, rankings will be used to determine final overall team scores. There will be monetary awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall winners for each age group. 1st place will receive $500, 2nd place will receive $250, and 3rd place will receive $125.

Audience Rules:

· Audience Members must remain respectful at all times. No profanity, Arguing, taunting or negative behaviors will be tolerated. This will be a family welcoming event.

· The audience must treat all participants, judges, volunteers, and other spectators with courtesy and respect.

· While cheering is encouraged we ask that you avoid access noise and distractions while teams are performing especially while teams are performing. Loud or sudden noises can disrupt their concentration.

· No throwing objects and must follow all venue rules.

· We ask that you utilize the trash cans for your trash. Clean up after yourself

· Children must be monitored by their parents at all times. Be aware of children if you have children with you please supervise them closely and ensure they are also following audience rules.

Judges Rules:

• Ensure that the actions of the athletes follow the rules. In fulfilling this task, the official must establish the best possible climate for fair competition with the attention on the athletes.

• Practice clicking speed and identifying deductions.

• Be very familiar with and knowledgeable about all rules and procedures as described in JUMP Fest competition rules.

• Become confident and comfortable with the responsibilities of all judging positions for which they are assigned.

• Be familiar enough with the judging system and scoring collection method to be able to score routines quickly as well as accurately, to keep tournaments running smoothly.

• Always be punctual, pleasant, and polite while judging.

• Be impartial. Avoid coaching or cheering for any certain competitor or competitors.

• Be friendly with their fellow judges but refrain from any comments or discussion while judging.

• Attend all judges’ meetings prior to the competition they are judging at as required by the JUMP Officials.

• Look professional.

• Personal cell phone use is not allowed while judging. No videoing is allowed from the judging table.

• The conduct of each judge affects the public’s attitude toward all judges. Therefore, every judge must uphold the honor, integrity and dignity of the role.
